ADA, OK - Pontotoc Technology Center is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jim Lawson as the new Assistant Director for Business and Industry Services at PTC. Jim assumed his new role on August 1st, 2023.
Jim brings over four decades of experience in trade, technical, and industrial education, and nearly 30 years as a business owner. His demonstrated commitment to workforce development and training will play a pivotal role in furthering PTC’s vision of anticipating needs and educating our customers to provide a trained workforce in Oklahoma.
“In his new role as Assistant Director, Jim will be responsible for calling on new and existing industries, and developing new programs - one of which is our new LineWorker Program that started in August,” said Jenny Cypert, Business and Industry Director at PTC.
"We are excited to add Jim Lawson to our leadership team," said Travis Graham, Superintendent at PTC. "His wealth of knowledge and dedication to empowering our business and industry partners and students with relevant in-demand skills will be instrumental in advancing our programs and fostering stronger ties with local businesses."

Pontotoc Technology Center is part of the Oklahoma Career Tech system and offers full-time training opportunities in Health Science, Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, Heavy Equipment, HVAC, Automotive, Information Technology, Firefighter Training, Line Worker Training, and Welding.
