Financial Aid

Education is more important than ever, and financial resources are available to help you succeed. Financial aid is available to adult students attending career majors that are more than 600 hours of instruction. Pontotoc Technology Center does not participate in any Student Loan program.

Grant Opportunities

Federal Pell Grant (PELL)

  • Federally funded program which provides aid to adult students who seek a diploma or certificate in an eligible career major at our institution.

  • Pell Grants are restricted to students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Eligibility is based on meeting certain criteria.

  • Grant does not have to be repaid.

Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG)

  • May cover up to 50 percent of tuition costs depending on eligibility.

  • Administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

  • Grant does not have to be repaid.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

  • PTC is provided limited funds to use toward students with the greatest need.

  • Grant does not have to be repaid.

CareerTech Scholarship

The Career Tech Scholarship is for full time students attending six hours a day, the scholarship value is the cost of tuition and fees for the career major for which you have interviewed and been accepted into.

Requirements:

  • Must have graduated from a district high school (or completed home school in PTC's district), and 23 years old or younger.

  • Complete an application for admission to PTC.

  • Provide a copy of your final high school transcript/GED certificate.

  • Write a brief essay about your career plans.

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship Program

Receive up to $2,500 to pursue career and technical education. Applications open March 15th.

Verification of Unaccompanied Homeless Youth Determination 2024-2025 
If you reported on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that you are an unaccompanied youth who is homeless or is at risk of being homeless, we must have this completed form and any required documentation before we can continue to process your financial aid.

Professional Judgement

A Request for Professional Judgment may be filed if you have unusual and/or special circumstances in which you believe warrant a re-evaluation of your financial aid.

Unusual Circumstances
Students who have circumstances they would like to have reviewed to be considered an independent student, including Provisional Independent Students, may submit this form.

Special Circumstances
If you feel the FAFSA does not represent your current income situation, you contact the Financial Aid Office at (580) 310-2223 to set up an appointment to discuss your financial situation. Please note that any outstanding verification requirements must be resolved and completed before a Special Circumstance can be completed.
