The Welding program at PTC provides top training to those looking to enter the Welding career path. Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
Program for High School students attending half-days in year one at PTC:
Combination Welder I (High School Students Only)
PROGRAM TITLE: Combination Welder I

This program is an introduction to common welding and cutting processes used in metal fabrication of structural. Students will be introduced to Shielded Metal Arc Welding(SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Flux-Cored Metal Arc Welding (FCAW).
Program for Adult Students (and continuing High School Students)
Adults enroll in this program (completion possible in one year if on a full-day schedule, complete in two years if on a half-day schedule).

This program is an introduction to common welding and cutting processes used in metal fabrication. Students will be introduced to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Open Root PipeWelds, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), GasTungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Oxy-Fuel Cutting (OFC), Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC),Air Carbon Arc Cutting (AAC), metal preparation and heat treating. Students will also be introduced to blueprint reading and construction of items according to specifications.
