Desktop Publisher Graphic Designer

PROGRAM TITLE: Desktop Publisher/Graphic Designer
INSTRUCTOR: Susan Martin
TOTAL HOURS: 540

This program prepares students for careers in electronic publishing. Students acquire fundamental skills in image creation and management procedures and techniques as they create, revise, optimize and export graphics for video, print and web publishing. Students learn digital photography and understand copyright basics. Students gain skills required for Adobe Certified Associate.

PC Support Technician

PROGRAM TITLE: PC Support Technician

This high school only program prepares students to repair, service, and troubleshoot personal computers and computer-related equipment and to install and configure operating systems and application software. Students in this program gain the technical skills required for CompTIA A+ industry certification.

Programs for Adult Students (and continuing High School Students)

Adults enroll in one of these programs (completion possible in one year if on a full-day schedule, complete in two years if on a half-day schedule). High School students attending half-days choose one of these programs to continue their education and skill development in year two.

Desktop Support Technician

PROGRAM TITLE: Desktop Support Technician
INSTRUCTOR: Susan Martin
TOTAL HOURS: 810

This program prepares students to provide technical assistance to computer users in various work environments. Students learn to repair, service, and troubleshoot personal computers and computer related equipment and to install and configure operating systems and application software. They also learn the basics of networking, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware peripherals and protocols, as well as network administration duties and providing support for network users. Students are trained to design, support and keep communications systems secure and learn to configure routers, switches, and maintain wide area networks.

Multimedia CADD

PROGRAM TITLE: Multimedia Specialist/Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)
INSTRUCTOR: Susan Martin
TOTAL HOURS: 900

This program prepares students to create and edit graphics for video, print and web publishing. Students will learn to create 2D and 3D drawings and may print their designs on a 3D printer or a large format printer. CADD is designed for students who have an interest in drafting and design, architecture, and engineering. AutoCAD is used for 2D and Revit and SolidWorks are used for 3D.

Multimedia Photo and Video

PROGRAM TITLE: Multimedia Specialist/Photo Video
INSTRUCTOR: Susan Martin
TOTAL HOURS: 900

This program prepares students to create and edit graphics for video, print and web publishing. Students learn desktop publishing and graphic design techniques along with digital photography skills. Students design and edit motion graphics and visual effects utilizing state of the art equipment in a full broadcast production studio. This selection is for students who have interests in graphic design, desktop publishing, photography, or production videography. Students will acquire advanced skills in those areas, as well as the opportunity to obtain industry certification as an Adobe Certified Associate, develop an online portfolio and resume.
